We would like to invite you to our online event series – CMS China Legal Lunch Bites. This series aims at providing you with short information on relevant legal topics in a time efficient manner, enabling you to get updates during or after your lunch break.

The topic of the upcoming CMS China Legal Lunch Bites is Navigating China’s New Labor Law Landscape – Key Takeaways from the Latest SPC Judicial Opinion. We will share with you, in two sessions, the main updates on the Opinions (II) on Several Issues Concerning the Application of Law in the Trial of Labor Disputes, which were issued by the PRC Supreme People’s Court and just became effective on 1 September 2025. This new judicial opinion indicates the recent development of PRC employment law, unifies some legal application standards in different locations and brings clearer judicial guidance for a series of employment management scenarios. The two sessions will be held on 19 November 2025 and 10 December 2025 respectively.

In Session 1, Jeanette Yu, Partner and Head of Employment & Pensions Practice Area Group at CMS China, will give you an overview on the main updates from the perspectives of (i) workforce engagement and social insurance issue; and (ii) implementation of non-competition obligations.

In Session 2, Chase Chen, Associate at CMS China, will introduce the main updates on (iii) conclusion and renewal of employment contract; and (iv) labor disputes.
