East China and Shanghai are among China’s most dynamic and prosperous regions, known for their diverse economy and well-developed infrastructure. Manufacturing, finance, and trade are among the key industries that thrive in the area, making it a hub for both established multinational corporations and emerging startups.

On May 26th, Dezan Shira & Associates’ Shanghai team will host an online panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities for doing business in East China and Shanghai. Our experts will share their insights on the region’s economic landscape and the factors driving its growth. They will also address the challenges businesses may face there, including navigating the regulatory environment, managing talent and HR issues, and understanding and utilizing multiple incentives in the region.

Our panelists include Allan Xu, Director of Business Advisory Services; Ada Zhou, Manager of Corporate Accounting Services; Fuki Fu, Manager of Human Resources & Payroll; and our special guest speaker – Irania Martinez, Senior Manager at CBRE. The discussion will be moderated by Simon Laube, Assistant Manager of International Business Advisory.

Introduction of our guest speaker:

Irania Martinez is the Senior Manager of Industrial & Logistics Services Department of CBRE. Irania has successfully settled companies that today are highly profitable; had the opportunity to accompany them in their industrial and logistic projects through each stage of their development; from the beginning to becoming well-established corporations in China. In her previous experience, she managed an International Chamber of Commerce in China as Executive Director where she created links and connection to develop business, investment and establishment of foreign projects.

Moreover, she represented as landlord an International Industrial Zone located in Jiangsu province with a total of 250,000 sqm of foreign investment in the manufacture sector. In her transaction brokerage record she has completed more than 500,000 sqm in site selection, sales & leaseback, transaction management and built-to-suit services. Irania joined CBRE, Shanghai in October 2020. She has excellent interpersonal skills and relish in taking business opportunities to support the clients.
